Prayer and Praise

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving, enter His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name. For Adonai is good, His grace continues forever, and His faithfulness lasts through all generations" Psalm 100:4-5.   God inhabits the praises of His people.  Our Father gave us the greatest gift imaginable--His Son.  For that alone Christ is worthy of our praise, for that alone God deserves our unending thanks.  And the most intimate of times with the Father are when we simply praise Him.  God is able to reveal what His heart's desire is, we are able to express to Him what's on our hearts and the Holy Spirit is able to empower, to stir our spirit to the expression of faith.

"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" James 5:16.  "By God's grace, without earning it, all are granted the status of being considered righteous before Him, through the act redeeming us from our enslavement to sin that was accomplished by Jesus Christ" Romans 3:23.  As believers, we have to understand just how incredibly powerful our earnest prayers are.  When we align what we pray for with what God's Word says about it, our petitions are heard and honored by the Father.  God refers us to corporate prayer and intercessory prayer as important ways to bind our faith with the faith of others, for the benefit of each other and for the glory of God.  It is with this in mind that we come to the church body at times to lift up people in who are in particular need of our prayers of agreement and intercession.

"Through Him, therefore, let us offer God a sacrifice of praise continually.  For this is the natural product of lips that acknowledge His name" Hebrews 13:15.  The Lord's Prayer begins and ends by praising God.  So, as we pray we can't go wrong by praising Him going in and coming out!  If you've just finished a prayer for someone, thank God that even now He is making it manifest!  Since Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith, all the more reason we praise Him as we begin the prayer--thanking Him that He's already done it, already deposited everything necessary to get the job done--and praise Him when we're closing the prayer.  Just keep on giving Him the glory!

We truly, deeply appreciate your heartfelt prayers for the individuals we lift up.  If you know of someone who needs believers to stand in the gap during those often challenging times, please call us.  Please also keep the leaders of our nation in prayer, that they will make sound decisions and keep wise council.
